The 2025 PTSC Southern Region Sports Festival brought together more than 700 employees from 12 member units in three days of competition, strengthening solidarity, health and sporting spirit across PTSC.
[Ho Chi Minh City, September 28, 2025] – Following the success of the Northern and Central regional events, the 2025 PTSC Southern Region Sports Festival officially concluded with many memorable emotions, affirming the strength of solidarity and determination among employees of the Corporation.
The festival was held over three days, September 26, 27 and 28, 2025, at the Vietsovpetro Culture and Sports Center. It was organized not only to celebrate the successful 8th PTSC Party Congress and the 4th Party Congress of Vietnam National Industry - Energy Group, but also to provide strong spiritual encouragement for employees to compete enthusiastically and strive to exceed the 2025 production and business plan.
Opening Ceremony
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tran Toan, Chairman of the Corporation Trade Union, encouraged the athletes and emphasized the importance of the sports festival in improving health, strengthening connections and spreading sporting spirit throughout PTSC.
The festival attracted more than 700 officials, employees and workers from 12 member units. Athletes competed enthusiastically in football, tug of war, badminton, table tennis, pickleball, tennis, athletics and swimming. The exciting atmosphere, fair-play spirit and determination to win created many unforgettable moments.
After two days of intense and exciting competition, the closing ceremony of the PTSC Southern Region Sports Festival was solemnly held at noon on September 28 at Petro Hotel. Attendees included Mr. Tran Ho Bac, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President & CEO of the Corporation; Mr. Pham Van Hung, Member of the Party Standing Committee, Deputy General Director and Vice Chairman of the Corporation Trade Union; Mr. Nguyen Tran Toan, Chairman of the Corporation Trade Union; representatives of the Party Committee Standing Board, Board of Directors, Executive Board, Trade Union, Veterans Association and Youth Union; together with leaders and trade union representatives from member units.
At the closing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tran Toan praised the Organizing Committee for its careful preparation and commended the athletes for their determined and sportsmanlike performances. He also emphasized the festival’s role in strengthening connections and promoting emulation movements throughout the PTSC system.
Overall Results
PTSC M&C topped the overall medal standings with 15 gold, 7 silver and 11.5 bronze medals, demonstrating comprehensive strength and serious investment in the sports movement. PTSC Supply Base ranked second with 6.5 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze medals, followed by PTSC HQ with an encouraging total of 14.5 medals.
Many individuals and teams also made strong impressions in specific sports. In men’s football, PTSC M&C convincingly won the championship, while the combined Supply Base - PV Shipyard team captured the women’s football title. Awards for Best Player, Best Goalkeeper and Fair-Play Team were also presented to outstanding participants.
Sport not only helps employees improve their health and recharge after demanding working hours; the intense matches also strengthen teamwork, cooperation, sharing and mutual understanding. This is an important foundation for an increasingly united PTSC workforce that can overcome challenges and pursue new goals together.
The 2025 PTSC Southern Region Sports Festival concluded in an enthusiastic atmosphere, leaving strong impressions and pride among PTSC employees. The event reaffirmed solidarity, physical fitness and determination while providing fresh motivation for employees across the Corporation to continue working together, innovating and achieving breakthroughs in the journey ahead.
